Continental Tire evacuated after bomb threat

June 5, 2016

MT. VERNON — Employees at Continental Tire in Mt. Vernon got quite a scare Friday night.

Jefferson County Sheriff Allen tells News 3 they received a call of a potential bomb set to go off at 8:30 p.m.

Workers at the factory were evacuated.

Jefferson County deputies were on the scene. Secretary of State Police were also called in.

Nothing was found and Sheriff Allen says there’s not reason for them to believe anyone is in danger.

It’s still under investigation.
