June 15, 2016

A 47-year-old Carlinville man has been arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop by Centralia Police in the 200 block of East Noleman in Centralia.

Joseph Cole is being held in the Marion County Jail for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of cannabis, armed violence, possession of weapons by a felon, and no valid fireowners identification card.

Centralia Police say Cole had a torn pack of cigarettes with a rolled joint sticking out of one of his shirt pockets.  A further investigation turned up two rolled cannabis joints in the cigarette pack.  Police then located 6 baggies of crystal ‘ICE’ methamphetamine inside a cup along with a meth pipe with meth residue.  A loaded handgun was located in the middle console of the car leading to the weapons charges.
