Police arrest 11 in warrant sweep

MT. VERNON – Police arrested 11 people Wednesday on various drug charges as part of a warrant sweep.

A total of 24 people were sought on 29 drug-related charges and 11 had been arrested on outstanding warrants as of 3 p.m. Wednesday. The warrants were the culmination of more than six months of ongoing investigations by the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.

Arrested were: Crystal Golla, 22, on a charge of unlawful delivery of cannabis; Dennis Coomer, 30, on a charge of unlawful delivery of cannabis (10 to 30 grams); Dustin McCowen, 30, on a charge of manufacture of meth; Frank Donovan, 19, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance (methlyphenidate); James Hicks, 25, on one count of delivery of heroin and two counts of manufacture of meth; Levon Morgan, 31, on a charge of unlawful delivery of cannabis (10 to 30 grams); Meghan Reeves (Hicks), 25, on a charge of manufacture of meth; Michael Glenn, 30, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance (amphetamine); Princeton Turner, 30, on a charge of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine); Russell Brown, 28, on a charge of unlawful delivery of cannabis (10 to 30 grams); and Shariff Stuckey, 24, on a charge of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine).

James Hicks, Glenn, and Turner were already in the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections at the time of the warrant sweep.

The warrants were issued by the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office and were signed by the Honorable Judge Jo Beth Weber.
