Search Warrant Executed on Mt. Vernon Home Friday in On Going Weapons and Burglary Investigations

The Mt. Vernon Police Department-Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team executed two search warrants Friday morning in connection with ongoing weapons and burglary investigations in Mt. Vernon.

The search warrants were for homes at 621 South 18th and 729 South 18th.  A 17-year-old juvenile male was taken into custody and firearms seized. Police say two of the firearms were stolen.   

The seventeen year old has been charged with Armed Violence, Residential Burglary, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and No Valid FOID Card. The juvenile will be housed in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending a court date in Jefferson County.

The police department is seeking to locate another suspect, 24 year old Lyle Bulliner, in connection with these investigations. They are asking the public to contact the Mt Vernon Police Department at 242-2131 or Jefferson County Crimestoppers at 242-8477 if you know Bulliner’s whereabouts. You may remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward.
