Two Fairfield Teens Injured When Off Highway Vehicles Crash in Median of I64

July 10, 2016

Two Fairfield teens were injured in a crash of two off-road vehicles in the median of Interstate 64 five miles east of the Fairfield exit in Wayne County late Saturday afternoon.

State Police say the crash occurred when an ATV driven by 19-year-old Fisher Wagner quickly decelerated and made an abrupt turn, causing a 17-year-old juvenile driving an off highway motorcycle to strike the rear of the ATV.

Wagner was transported by Wayne City ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.  The male juvenile was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries by his parents.

Tickets were issued for careless operation of an ATV/Off-highway motorcycle and violation of controlled access highway restriction.

The Wayne County Fire Protection District and Wayne City Ambulance assisted State Police at the crash site.

The crash occurred at 4:39 Saturday afternoon.
