McLeansboro Teen Killed In Hamilton County Crash

A 17-year-old McLeansboro male juvenile was killed when his pickup truck collided with a farm tractor in Hamilton County Friday afternoon.

State Police say the juvenile was westbound on the Dahlgren Road about a half mile east of Illinois Route 142 when he began to pass the vehicle traveling in front of him in the westbound lane.  For unknown reasons, the juvenile applied his brakes and slid into the eastbound lane of Dahlgren Road where he collided with the tractor driven by 20-year-old Nathan Anselment of Dahlgren. 

Anselment did not report any injuries. The 17-year-old was  pronounced dead on the scene by the Hamilton County Coroner’s office.  His name is not currently being released.

An ISP Crash Reconstruction Officer has been assigned to the crash investigation.  Illinois State Police were assisted at the crash scene by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, Hamilton County EMA, Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, McLeansboro Police Department, Dahlgren Fire Department, Harre’s Ambulance Service, and Rick’s Towing.
