August 2, 2016

Bond has been set at $500,000 for a 34-year-old Farina man who has been formally charged in Fayette County Court with aggravated kidnapping of his nine-year-old son who he has no custody rights.

Darrell Moulton was reportedly found with his son, Gahrett Moulton of Vandalia, in a rural area of Fayette County on Sunday night seven hours after he had reportedly taken the child from Sunset Drive in Vandalia.  The boy was not injured.

The two had been the subject of an Amber Alert issued by Illinois State Police.

Moulton will have to file a financial affidavit to determine eligibility for the public defender.   A preliminary hearing in the case is set for August 17th.
