Salem Man Sentenced to Prison on Drug Charge

August 4, 2016

A 26-year-old Salem man has been sentenced to four years in prison and two years of mandatory supervised release after pleading guilty in Marion County Court Tuesday to unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Jarrod Middleton of England Road had initially been charged with a Class X offense of unlawful possession with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams of cocaine.  Centralia Police found 57.9 grams of suspected cocaine in Middleton’s possession following an April traffic stop where he allegedly gave police permission to search.

Middleton received the same five year prison term to be served concurrently after admitting to a petition to revoke his probation in a 2014 conviction for meth manufacturing.

Middleton will not have to begin serving the prison term until August 10th.
