Seven People Injured in Rollover Crash on Jolliff Bridge Road

August 30, 2016

Seven people were injured when a car went out of control on the Jolliff Bridge Road and overturned.

Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies say 37-year-old William Snell of Douglas, Wyoming was travelling southbound over a bridge north of the Junction Road when the car went airborne. After landing back on the road, Snell lost control, veered into the northbound lane, and then ran off the east side of the road and hit an embankment. The car spun around and overturned. A witness reported all seven occupants were ejected from the car.

Three of the five children in the vehicle were airlifted by medical helicopters on the scene to St. Louis Hospitals. The driver, another adult, 31-year-old Tara Hopkins of Mulberry Street in Sandoval, and the other two juveniles were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Clinton County officials say four of the juveniles were from Sandoval. They were a one and five year old female and two and four year old males. The other juvenile was a 16-year-old male from Wyoming.

An investigation into the wreck is continuing and any tickets are still pending.

The crash occurred at 3:21 Monday afternoon.
