Centralia Woman Arrested for Aggravated Battery After Allegedly Pepper Spraying Another Woman

September 5, 2016

A 50-year-old Centralia woman was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail for aggravated battery after allegedly pepper spraying another woman during a Saturday altercation.

Centralia Police say Lavita Thomas had gone to the home of Amanda Latham on South Elm Street to return her cell phone when the altercation broke out when Thomas also asked for her Walmart prepaid card back.

Thomas reportedly threw Latham’s phone at her and pulled the pepper spray container out of her purse and sprayed Latham in the neck and arm. Thomas then left the home, but was located later after Latham filed the complaint.
