Suspect in custody after attempted child abduction near Willow Grove School

CENTRALIA — Centralia Police have a suspect in custody after an attempted child abduction this morning at Willow Grove School in Centralia.

Police reports indicate that around 8:15, a white male allegedly grabbed a girl near the school at South Brookside Avenue and 7th Street.  The nearby mother of the child, reportedly yelled at the man, who let the child go unharmed.

Several schools were on lockdown as a result of the incident, but the all clear was given by the police department after the arrest.

CENTRALIA — A possible attempted child abduction from Willow Grove Grade School in Centralia is under investigation by the Centralia Police Department.

Police reports indicate that around 8:15 Friday morning, a heavyset, white male allegedly grabbed a girl near the school at South Brookside Avenue and 7th Street.  The nearby mother of the child, reportedly yelled at the man, who let the child go unharmed.

The man reportedly was wearing a black shirt with black shorts and black shoes. He was last seen on foot walking south on Brookside Avenue.
