September 10, 2016

A 25-year-old Salem woman was injured in a one vehicle crash on the 22-hundred block of West Main Street west of the Selmaville Road Thursday afternoon.

Salem Police say Brittany Chalkas of Red Stripe Road was traveling westbound, crossed the eastbound lanes and left the south side of the road. Her vehicle then traveled through two yards before hitting a tree. Extensive damage was reported to the right side of Chalkas’ vehicle. She was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries. No other vehicles were involved.

Chalkas was ticketed for driving under the influence of drugs and improper lane usage. She was given a notice to appear in court.
