Salem Firemen Keep Fire Set to Burn Old Double Wide Mobile Home From Spreading

September 13, 2016

Salem Fire Protection District Firemen were called Sunday night when a controlled burn to get rid of an old double wide mobile home got too big and threatened other buildings.

Salem Fire Chief Roger Mann says the fire was at the Kyle Webb property at 2106 Maplewood Avenue just off of Route 37 and the Tonti Road. The department was called when it appeared the fire may spread to another mobile home to the south and a garage to the north. Mann reports the fire was brought under control before it had a chance to do any damage.

The fire call came in at 7:30 Sunday night. Firemen were on the scene for about two hours. Odin Firemen stood by at their station in the event Salem had another fire.
