Centralia Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery to Police Officer

Bond has been set at $15,000 for a 46-year-old Centralia man has who has been charged with aggravated battery to a police officer.

Rex Rose of East McCord is accused of slamming the door twice in the face of a Centralia Police Officer who had come to the home to supervise his wife picking up items after he had allegedly thrown her out of the home. The second time Rose slammed the door, the officer was far enough in the door to be struck in the face and have his arm caught in the door. When the officer reopened the door, Rose reportedly got into a fight stance and the two fell to the floor fighting. It was broken up by another officer who tazed Rose, who immediately stopped resisting.

Bond for Rose was set at $15,000. He indicated he would hire his own attorney. A preliminary hearing was set for October 12th.
