Mt. Vernon Man Charged with Ford Square Burglary Among Other Offenses

Mt. Vernon Police have arrested a 24-year-old Mt. Vernon man on multiple charges after he allegedly was found inside a vacant residence.

Police say Quavarus Jackson appeared to have broken into the home in the 700 block of South 23rd. After taking Jackson into custody, officers found property stolen during a burglary at Ford Square on September 16th. One officer also recognized him from video surveillance at Ford Square.

Jackson is being held in the Jefferson County Justice Center for burglary, criminal trespass to property, and criminal damage to property. Bond has not yet been set.
