Police Beat for Saturday, September 24th, 2016

A 30-year-old Salem woman has been arrested on two counts of domestic battery. Candice Cano of County Farm Road was taken into custody late Friday night after allegedly fighting with her father at his home in the 700 block of South Jefferson. The second domestic battery arrest was from an earlier incident.

Two people remained in custody Saturday on probation violations. 20-year-old Tyreque Campbell of South 25th in Mt. Vernon and 20-year-old Matthew Steward of West Broadway in Centralia were both arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies.

A 22-year-old Walnut Hill man, Jacob Linkon of Jefferson Street, remains in the Marion County Jail after being arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding traffic warrant.

Salem Fire Protection District personnel were called out at 12:30 Saturday morning after a pile of gum balls that had been raked up in the 700 block of South College was set on fire.
