Second Person Who Fled on Foot Following September Robbery in Centralia Is Taken Into Custody

October 29, 2016

Centralia Police have arrested a 20-year-old St. Louis, Missouri man who has been wanted for a September 14th robbery of a 16-year-old male Centralia juvenile.

Lindell Troupe is being held in the Marion County Jail for robbery, resisting a peace officer, on an outstanding St. Louis County, Missouri warrant, along with a Marion County traffic warrant.

Troupe along with 18-year-old Damari Lewis are accused of taking the 16-year-old’s phone, pants and shoes. The items were taken when the driver of the car in which the juvenile was a passenger stopped near Laura Leake Park in Centralia to talk to the two accused of the robbery. Police say the juvenile was eventually ordered out of the car and the two men who robbed him got into the car with his two friends and left the scene.

The juvenile returned home after the incident and used an iPhone ap to track his phone to help police locate the car containing his friends and the two suspects. While police attempted to stop the car at Kell and McGee, both men believed involved in the robbery jumped out of the back seat and ran on foot.

Lewis was arrested when attempting to run into an apartment when one of the occupants, who was sitting on the front porch, knocked Lewis to the ground and held him for police. Troupe was able to successfully run into a wooded area near Howard and Rexford Streets and remained at large until Friday’s arrest.
