Mt. Vernon Police Make Armed Robbery Arrest

November 2, 2016

Mt. Vernon Police have made an arrest in connection with an early Monday morning armed robbery at the Huck’s Convenience Store at 1801 Benton Road in Mt. Vernon.

32-year-old Robert King was developed as a suspect during the investigation and arrested about three and a half hours later at a home at 1508 Shawnee in Mt. Vernon. Police say he still had property on his person that is believed to have been taken during the armed robbery.

Initial reports indicated a white male armed with a knife had robbed the store of cash and merchandise.

King was taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center on a charge of armed robbery, with bond still to be set.
