This is the second time Robert Tyler Hayes has fled from prosecution. Hayes first fled prosecution by Jefferson County, where he is charged with one count misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs and two Class 2 felony counts of aggravated DUI resulting in the 2012 deaths of 24-year-old Holly Fenton, of Bluford, and 20-year-old Cody Bidabe, of Fairfield.

While first freed on bond in the case, however, Hayes reportedly fled to Florida, where a joint fugitive apprehension task force apprehended him in August 2015.

He was brought back to Illinois, again posted bond and was free awaiting trial in that case when he was arrested after an October traffic stop in Wayne County.

In that traffic stop, sheriff’s deputies reportedly seized PVP – a synthetic drug also known as bath salts — nearly $6,700 in cash, multiple prepaid debit cards, drug pipes, scales and surveillance cameras,

Hayes was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended.

His 2008 Nissan was also seized as evidence in the case. He posted bond in Wayne County and was released from jail, with a November 29 first appearance scheduled in court.

Hayes was also scheduled for a November 7 motion hearing in Jefferson County Court, but he failed to appear for either court date.

Wayne County has issued a $75,000 warrant for Hayes’ arrest and Jefferson County has issued a $250,000 warrant for his arrest.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Robert T. Hayes is encouraged to contact a local law enforcement agency.
