Four People Escape Serious Injury When Car Flips Over in Creek

January 3, 2017

Four occupants of a car escaped injury when it ran off the Community Beach Road near the Odin Road intersection Sunday night attempting to avoid hitting a deer.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say 25-year-old Jessica Staley of Jana Drive in Centralia was westbound on Community Beach when she swerved to miss a deer and hit a concrete bridge before going into the creek and overturning. Deputies report all four occupants got out of the car and walked to a nearby home for help.

In addition to Jessica Staley, three passengers in the car were all checked at the scene by Marion County EMS, but did not require hospital treatment. The passengers are identified as 34-year-old Jesse Mulvaney of Marion Street in Central City, as well as 9-year-old Cameron Shipp and 11-year-old Kaylynn Mulvaney of Jana Drive in Centralia.

The crash occurred at 7:42 Sunday night.
