3 Plead Guilty to Felony Drug Charges in Marion County Court

Three people entered guilty pleas to felony possession of drugs in Marion County Court on Tuesday.

28-year-old Jessi Irwin of Forbes Road in Mt. Vernon was placed on two years probation, 30 hours of public service work, and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of ecstasy. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dropped as part of the plea.

23-year-old Slade Thompson of Charlotte Street in Central City has pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of under five grams of methamphetamine. He was placed on five years probation, ordered to pay court costs, and given credit for 121 days served in the Marion County Jail. Thompson was arrested on the first charge in April 2015 and the second time in March of last year. As part of the plea, charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice were dropped.

26-year-old Julian Heffron of Maulding Drive in Centralia was placed on two years probation, 30 hours of public service work, and ordered to pay a $500 drug assessment after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of under five grams of methamphetamine. Heffron was arrested earlier this month.
