Mobile Home Damaged by Fire in Rural Centralia

February 3, 2017

A mobile home sustained heavy damage and one person was admitted to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for evaluation following a mobile home fire late Wednesday night.

Centralia Fire Protection District officials say they were called to the Mike and Cindy Devor home at 2586 Barker Road, about a half-mile west of Bell Club Road east of Centralia, when the Devor’s discovered the back end of their home on fire and smoke filling the rest of the structure.

Heavy smoke was pouring from the structure when Centralia Fire District’s first units arrived. The fire was quickly knocked down. The blaze appears to have started in the area near the dryer, but the cause of the fire was not been determined.

The Devor’s were able to go into their home after the fire to retrieve some personal items.

Cindy Devor was taken to the hospital as a result of breathing in smoke.

The fire call came in at 11:45 Wednesday night.
