Semi Trailer Burns in I-57 Rest Stop Fire South of Salem

The back end of a semi trailer burned in an early Saturday morning fire in the Interstate 57 rest area south of Salem.

The fire was already visible when the Salem Fire Protection District was called shortly after midnight. A number of explosions were heard from items catching fire in the trailer, but firemen report no hazardous materials were involved.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. There were no injuries. Odin Firemen responded on mutual aid.

The truck is owned by Erives Enterprises, Incorporated of El Paso, Texas.
