Semi Driver Escapes Serious Injury When Rig Flips Over Across South Bound I-57

February 14, 2017

A Columbus, Ohio semi truck driver refused hospital treatment for injuries sustained when his rig went out of control on Interstate 57 a mile south of the Fayette-Marion County line early Sunday morning.

Initial information indicates Warsame Mohamed Ali was traveling northbound when he apparently fell asleep and his rig crossed the median and rolled over across both southbound lanes. He was treated on the scene by Kinmundy-Alma Ambulance personnel.

The crash blocked southbound traffic on I-57 until cleanup could be completed.

The crash occurred at 3:24 Sunday morning.
