Drug Bust Begins in Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County

The Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department has begun the round up of 19 people being sought on outstanding drug warrants.

Through early Wednesday afternoon, nine of those being sought had been arrested. Those taken into custody include Tina Gammons for delivery of a controlled substance, June Paterson for delivery of heroin, and James Jennings for delivery of a controlled substance and of a lookalike substance. Patrick Keef and David Birke were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and Brittany Bunton and Judson Connaway for possession of a controlled substance and drug equipment.

The warrants were issued by the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office and were signed by the Honorable Judge Jerry Crisel, after on-going investigations by the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
