John Brown is now scheduled for a June 13 jury trial on the Class X felony charge of aggravated arson knowing people present.

Brown is accused of allegedly pouring gasoline around the inside of his girlfriend’s residence in September, then setting the home ablaze with his family inside, and fleeing the home on foot.

The family was able to escape the fire without injury, but the Dix-Irvington Road home and its contents were destroyed. Brown was ultimately arrested at a Centralia residence after a day-long search for him throughout the area.

Bail for Brown was set at $150,000 and he remained in jail for more than two months before $15,000 cash bond was posted on his behalf and he was released.

Brown is next scheduled to appear in court April 25 for a pre-trial hearing in the case.
