A Jefferson County Grand Jury has indicted eight people for first-degree murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the January 20th shooting death of 26-year-old Deandray Jackson.

Those indicted include 20-year-old John Wells and 18-year-old LekaDrion Russell, who were earlier arrested on warrants for the first-degree murder. The others are 24-year-old Curtis Devan Junior, Dentrez Brown, 18-year-old Deon Frazier, 22-year-old Jarron Liddell, 19-year-old Lamar Williams, and 23-year-old Tony Feggins.

One of the earlier murder charges indicated Jackson was shot during a robbery attempt in the 1800 block of Conger Street in Mt. Vernon.

Mt. Vernon Police say this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with useful information is asked to contact Captain Jeff Bullard at (618)242-2131 or Crime Stoppers and (618)242-TIPS (8477).
