Police Beat for Saturday, February 25th, 2017

A 37-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for being a sex offender residing within 500 feet of a school and on an outstanding Marion County Ordinance Violation Warrant for possession of cannabis. Donte Jones of Marion Street in Centralia was initially arrested by Centralia Police on Friday on the outstanding warrant. The sex offender violation was added when police learned the home where he was living was within 500 feet of Field School. Jones, who is no longer required to register as a sex offender, told police he didn’t realize he was in violation of the law.

32-year-old Marcus Walker of Ninth Street in Carlyle remains in custody after being arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on a petition to revoke his probation.

29-year-old Michael Persinger of Old U.S. 50 in Flora posted $100 bond and was released after being arrested by State Police for alleged driving under the influence.

58-year-old Douglas Davis of Marvin Street in Central City posted $150 bond after being arrested by sheriff’s deputies for driving on a revoked license.

Two people were arrested by Salem Police for driving on a suspended license. Both 47-year-old Ginger Shryock of Olney and 32-year-old Christopher Barnhart of Sinclair Road in Kinmundy posted $150 bond and were released.
