March 15, 2017

A 27-year-old Vandalia man being sought on multiple counts of failure to register as a sex offender has been arrested after allegedly being found hiding in an Iuka home.

Iuka Police, with assistance from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, allegedly found Kraig Nichols hiding at a home in Iuka Monday night where he had reportedly been staying without registering. Nichols turned himself in once police had entered the home.

Salem Police had also been seeking Nichols for earlier staying at a Salem home without registering.

Nichols is also the subject of a Fayette County warrant for a registration violation. Bond on the warrant is set at $100,000.
