Mt. Vernon man arrested after striking person with his vehicle

MOUNT VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Police Department has arrested a 40-year-old Mt. Vernon man for alleged aggravated battery in a public place and disorderly conduct after he allegedly struck a person with his vehicle.

Officers were called out around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 1100 block of South 23rd Street on a report of a domestic disturbance

They arrested Miguel Hernandez after an investigation determined that he had struck an individual with his vehicle and a further physical altercation ensued.

The injured individual refused treatment at the scene. Hernandez was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he is awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
