Salem Police Arrest Two People Who Spent Six Hours in Walmart Store

April 2, 2017

Two people have been arrested after Salem Walmart officials reported their suspicious activity Saturday morning.

Salem Police say the call was made after the two, identified as 33-year-old Joshua Landes of Carterville and 26-year-old Sherri Dwyer of Herrin, had been in the store for about six hours.

By the time police arrived, the two had left but were spotted in a car outside a nearby business and were questioned.

Salem Police say both ended up being arrested for criminal damage to property for allegedly ripping open packages while in the Walmart Store. Dwyer was also arrested for unlawful possession of under five grams of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
