Two Charged in Marion County Court Monday Following Weekend Arrests

A 42-year-old Salem man was formally charged with felony aggravated fleeing and eluding police following a lengthy vehicle chase through the Alma and Patoka area Saturday night. Bond for Clinton Zimmerman was set at $15,000. The public defender was appointed to represent Zimmerman. Speeds in the chase reached 100 miles per hour with Zimmerman getting away at one point after driving through a field. The chase started in Alma and ended off a dead end drive along Bowman Road southeast of Patoka.

A 20-year-old Centralia resident has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft. Alvaro Martinez of South Brookside is accused of taking a bike from Duane Elliot and a laptop belonging to Tracie Sanderlin on April 8th. Bond was set at $5,000. The public defender was appointed to represent him.
