Four Go To Hospital Following Two Vehicle Crash in Centralia

May 3, 2017

Four people went to the hospital for treatment of injuries following a two vehicle crash on South Hickory at Third Street in Centralia early Monday night.

Centralia Police say an SUV driven by Jordan Young of James Street in Centralia was overtaking a pickup on the left driven by Donna Oglesby of Martin Luther King Drive in Centralia while Oglesby was signaling to make a left hand turn. As Oglesby began to turn, she hit the rear passenger side of Jordan’s SUV. The impact caused Young to lose control and hit the curb on the side of the street. That caused his vehicle to overturn twice in the road and come to rest in the front yard of the home at 229 South Hickory.

Young was taken to SSM Heath St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance, while Oglesby and two passengers in her pickup, Kayla Gable and Chase Oglesby of West Third Street, went by private vehicle on their own to be checked at St. Mary’s.

Young was ticketed for improper overtaking and speeding too fast for conditions.

The Centralia City Fire Department was called to the scene to assist the injured, but report Young had already gotten out of his SUV on his own.

The crash occurred at 6:39 Monday night.
