Former Centralia Man Arrested for Firing Shots Into Occupied Vehicle Last Month

May 4, 2017

A 26-year-old former Centralia man has been arrested on charges surrounding gunshots being fired into an occupied car in the 800 block of McKee in Centralia last month.

Roosevelt Cooper-McGee, who now lists an address of Jonesboro, Georgia, was arrested while at the courthouse on another case Wednesday morning.

The warrant charges Cooper-McGee with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one count of criminal damage to property. The first count accuses him of knowingly discharging a gun in the direction of another person. The second count claims Cooper-McGee discharged a gun into a car occupied by Alexis Sanders. The criminal damage charge claims he caused over $500 in damage for firing the gun into Sanders car.

Cooper-McGee was released from the Marion County Jail after posting $10,000 cash bond of the total $100,000 bond. He was ordered to have no drugs or alcohol while out on bond, with random testing.

Centralia Police say no one was injured in the shooting. Cooper-McGee, who was standing on the street when firing the shots, got into another car and left the scene.

The warrant was issued on April 27th.
