Wamac Man Arrested for Felony Theft After Allegedly Stealing Link Card

May 8, 2017

A homeless Wamac man was arrested by Wamac Police on Friday after allegedly taking a LINK card and using it without permission.

Spencer Loyd is being held in the Marion County Jail for theft over $500 and on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.

Wamac Police say Loyd allegedly stole a Link Card from a wallet belonging to Summer Tatro of Jana Drive while visiting at her home.

Police reports indicate Tatro later learned the LINK card had been used to obtain $200 at the Huck’s store on East Calumet and for $451 in groceries from the Centralia Walmart Store before being deactivated.

Wamac Police say video from the Huck’s store matches the clothing Tatro said he was wearing the night he was at her home. At that point, Loyd was located and taken into custody.
