Locust Street Historic Fair

May 10, 2017

Big crowds turned out for the fourth annual Locust Street Historic Fair in downtown Centralia over the weekend.

Centralia Community Development Director Gayla Harting says a children’s area was added this year thanks to the new History Club at Centralia High School.

“We have one entire block there at South Locust, the 200 block, that is going to be an Antique Car Show. That’s invite only. And the 100 block of South Locust is all of our vendors and we are up to 31 this year, which is growing every year. Last year it was 19. We have several different food options.”

She added, “We have Elmwood Speaks actors coming out at 2 different times. We have a Civic War re-enactment area that will be just south of the museum this year. That’s new and really nice. And we also have our historic building walking tour in that immediate area.”

Harting noted the fair attracted people from throughout the region and many local residents got their first look at all of the items in the Centralia Historic Museum.
