Salem Police and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies Both Have Business Burglaries Under Investigation

May 13, 2017

Both the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Salem Police are investigating business burglaries.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified at 6:26 Friday morning that Martin’s Service Center on West Main had been entered overnight. Cash was reportedly stolen after entry was gained through a window.

Salem Police say two businesses on Westgate Avenue were entered Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. The breakins were at Shamrock Dry Cleaners and Rollinson’s Home Center. Drawers had been rummaged through at Shamrock, with some money stolen. Police report there were no signs of forced entry. Some drawers were gone through at Rollinson’s, but nothing appears to have been taken.

Police say the Rollinson’s burglar alarm sounded at 2:24 Thursday morning. However, nothing was found when police arrived.
