Sunday Morning Fire Destroys Rural Centralia Home

A fire of unknown cause destroyed the William Blades home at 24-19 Meadow Lane off of Raccoon Lake in Centralia late Sunday morning.

Centralia Fire Protection District officials say the heavy flames were showing from the south end and the roof upon arrival. The fire was extinguished without incident. Heavy damage was reported throughout the home. Damage is estimated at $25,000.

The fire was discovered by the owner when he returned home. Blades placed a 911 call at 11:07 Sunday morning, with firemen remaining on the scene for two and a half hours.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the Blades family.
