July 15, 2017

The 6th annual Thundermoon Festival in Kinmundy begins it’s 2-day run Friday night at the City Park. Patoka native Jamie Nattier will take the stage at 6:30 with the Beer Garden opening at 5pm. There will be a Horse Shoe Tournament as well at 5pm.

On Saturday, at 1 there will be a kids 3 wheel race with the big wheels being provided and that event is totally free to enter. The highlighted event will be the Outhouse Races at 1:30 Saturday afternoon featuring a Junior and Adult Division. There will be a 5pm bag tournament and at 7pm Triple Threat takes the stage.

Kinmundy City Office Manager Theresa Hanks says the festival is key in providing upkeep and additional items to the City Park.

“We have planted trees, we’ve had to take a tree down because it was hallow. We put the money back into the park so it doesn’t cost anything to keep the park up. We’ve had to do electrical work. You name it, we’ve done it,” said Hanks.

New this year will be Lazer Tag provided by RJ Tactical Lazer Tag in Woodlawn. It will be both days and is fun for the whole family. It’s only $5 per game or for unlimited play the entire day it’s only $10. They will also be providing a Mobile escape game. Can you beat your friends on the leader board or will the zombies beat you. Come find out for only $5 per player.
