Four Teams Race in This Year’s Kinmundy Thundermoon Outhouse Races

July 17, 2017

(KINMUNDY) – Four teams raced outhouses in this year’s Thundermoon Festival in Kinmundy.

The team of Mariah, Alney, and Taegan Webster took first place. Team members, some who had experience from last year’s event, said the hardest part of doing well in the competition is getting off and on the outhouse.

The race includes a stop at a toilet where one of the team members has to sit on the seat covered with chocolate and mustard and later be able to quickly put on a roll of toilet paper. Another team member then has to bob in a bucket of water for plastic peanuts.

The second place team included Dez Hawkey, Dakota Fill and Gus Anderson of Kinmundy. The third place team was Sierra Arnold of Alma and Clara McElrly of Kinmundy and Bailey Henderson of Kinmundy.

The Thundermoon Festival also included two nights of musical entertainment, laser tag, other games and a beer garden. The annual event raises money for Kinmundy Park improvements.
