Police Beat for Sunday, July 16th, 2017

July 17, 2017

A 29-year-old Centralia man was being held in the Marion County Jail on multiple charges after initially refusing to stop for Central City Police late Saturday night. Brendan Heffron of South Locust was arrested for driving on a revoked license, manufacture or delivery of cannabis, possession of meth with intent to deliver, fleeing or eluding police, and on an outstanding Marion County ordinance violation warrant. Central City Police say they initially tried to stop Heffron when he pulled from the Citgo station because they knew he was wanted on the warrant and had a revoked license. Heffron allegedly refused to stop, at one time yelling back at the officer at a stop sign questioning why he was trying to stop him. Heffron eventually pulled into a parking lot in the 300 block of South Broadway where he was taken into custody. Police say they found cannabis and a baggie with a white powdery substance that field tested as methamphetamine in the car.

A 49-year-old Centralia woman was arrested by Centralia Police for felony retail theft. Tina Deadmond of North Locust is accused of taking several coins from Jim’s Coin Shop on East Broadway in Centralia.

41-year-old Curtis Scott of Kroger Street in Wamac was arrested by Wamac Police for alleged domestic battery.

49-year-old John Fodero of Poplar Street in Salem remained in custody following his arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for driving on a revoked license.
