Police Beat for Wednesday, July 19th, 2017

Salem Police arrested two people on drug-related charges after investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle on the Walmart parking lot early Wednesday morning. Police say the person in the car, 27-year-old Vanessa Wooden of Freeman Road in Kinmundy was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe. A person with Wooden who was in the Walmart store was questioned when coming out of the store. 25-year-old Cody Bushue of North Poplar in Centralia was arrested for possession of a hypodermic syringe. Both remain in the Marion County Jail.

Centralia Police arrested a 32-year-old Dix man for felony theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Joshua Knapp of North Tinsley Lane is accused of taking a car owned by his former girlfriend Angela Essmyer of Richview while it was parked at Bryan Manor in Centralia. Police say they found the car in the 13-hundred block of South Elm with Knapp only a few feet away.

33-year-old Gerald Murphy of South Oak in Sandoval was arrested by Sandoval Police on an outstanding felony warrant for failure to appear for felony driving on a revoked or suspended license.
