Three People Plead Guilty in Marion County Court to Methamphetamine Charges

Three people entered guilty pleas in Marion County Court Tuesday to possession of under five grams of methamphetamine.

37-year-old Sherri Dwyer of Herrin was placed on two years first offender probation, given credit for 23 days served in jail, ordered to complete 30 hours of public service work, and undergo drug and alcohol evaluation. A charge of criminal damage to property for allegedly damaging merchandise at the Salem Walmart store was dropped as part of the plea.

The two others were both arrested in a June drug bust by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies. 38-year-old Bryan Hester of Hotze Road in Salem was placed on two years probation, given credit for 24 days served in the Marion County Jail, and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment. 28-year-old William Shelby of Scout Road in Salem was placed on two years probation, 60 days in the Marion County Jail with credit for time already served, ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and complete a job search.
