Centralia Woman Faces Federal Indictment on Four Drug Charges

A Centralia woman has been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury sitting in East St. Louis on four methamphetamine related charges.

Anthonette Strowder, also known as ‘Big Mama’, was indited for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute meth, and two counts of distribution of meth. In the conspiracy charge, Strowder is accused of combining, conspiring and agree with others known and unknown to the Grand Jury, to knowingly and intentionally distributing methamphetamine. It is alleged 50 or more grams of ICE or 500 grams of more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine was involved in the conspiracy. The possession with intent to distribute on June 15th involved more than five grams of meth. The two distribution charges are for allegedly distributing meth on June 13th and 14th.

Strowder was indicted on July 12th. She was arrested on July 21st and taken to the Federal Courthouse in East St. Louis. She entered a not guilty plea and had a federal public defender appointed to represent her. A jury trial was set for September 18th.

The indictment was originally sealed, but has now been opened.
