Walnut Hill Bar Damaged by Suspicious Fire

The Illinois Fire Marshal’s office has been called to investigate a suspicious fire that damaged the PT in the Hill Bar on Main Street in Walnut Hill late Thursday night.

Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Greg Earle says the fire was confined to the back wall next to the natural gas inlet. The fire burned a small area of both the outside and inside wall. There was also water damage in the area of the fire and smoke damage throughout the bar.

There were no patrons in the bar at the time the fire broke out, but the bartender was still closing up. There were no injuries.

The fire call came in at 11:50 Thursday night.
