Odin Firemen’s Picnic Begins Three Day Run Thursday Night

May 24, 2018

The Odin Fireman’s Picnic opens Thursday night and continues through Saturday.

The midway, food and games begin at six tonight.

On Friday, firemen’s water fights are being added at 6:30. The carnival will be open, a DJ will play music, food and refreshments will be available along with a cake walk and photo booth.

On Saturday, the car show will be featured. Registration will be from eight to noon, with awards and sound off competition at one pm. Food will be available all day and evening. There will also be a cake walk, raffle, and live entertainment from Levi Loyd and Kevin Gamblin beginning at seven. The raffle results will be announced at nine, followed by the fireworks display at 9:30 pm.

Fire Chief Greg Smith notes the fireworks have been moved up a half hour this year.

The Midway provided by H and H Amusements will be open from six to ten Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. There will be a $15 armband each night, with a drawing held each evening for a bike with the tickets from the armbands purchased that evening.

Smith reports the proceeds have not been earmarked yet, but notes the department is looking at having to replace some gear in the next few years.

Once again this year, the ORDC will hold a 5K race and fun walk on Saturday morning. Registration begins at seven, with the race/walk at eight am.
