Kinmundy Trucker Escapes Injury When Rig Overturns on I-57 in Franklin County

A 66-year-old Kinmundy truck driver escaped injury when the semi he was driving overturned on northbound Interstate 57 near West Frankfort in Franklin County early Wednesday morning.

State Police say Walter Unsell lost control, entered the median and overturned onto the driver’s side. Unsell was ticketed for improper lane usage.

The crash occurred at 5:09 Wednesday morning. Both lanes of the Interstate were closed for an hour, with the second lane reopened six and a half hours later.
